Update on Kendall

Here is the latest from Alexis and Ashley (an excerpt from their email):

Here is the latest update ...

I just came back from having the sonogram scan ... the bloodflow to the placenta has gotten worse since yesterday, but it is not at the point where I have to deliver this afternoon, so we are very happy about that. Tomorrow, we will also find out how big she is measuring ... we are hoping she is at least 2.5 lbs and could be close to 3 lbs ... but we'll have to wait and see.

I've had some high but not to the worse limits of the best blood pressure readings today, so we are good with that... they've not been bad enough to make me deliver today, so we are thankful for that.

Baby Kendall is doing great still ... she's great on the fetal heart monitor ... because of the results of the sonogram scan, we are increasing the monitoring of her to at least 3 times a day, to keep a close eye on her. Although the bloodflow to her placenta is lessened, and there is more damage to the placenta, she still have plenty of amino fluid and the placenta is holding together right now ... all of these things are positives and will give us just another day.

Just keep the family in your prayers and when I hear more, I will let you know.

Thanks, Estee

Raccoons and Golf

So, something to lighen up the mood. Taris and I are finishing up our last day of vacation by golfing at Disney's Palm...a PGA course. Anyway, we get to the seventh hole and the group we are with goes to putt. This little raccoon comes out of no where and starts to go cart by cart. For any of you that know me, you know the story of the "demond cats"... a story for another day. Long story short this raccoon starts eyeing the cart I am in and I am aparently a flight not fight kind of girl. I leave the cart and walk towards the putting green. The raccoon proceeds to dig in my new camera bag and pulls out one of the wires for the camera. Needless to say Taris so not impressed. And to think we only have eleven more holes to go!

Pray for Alexis

I don't normally talk about family on this thing. I figure if they want it all over the internet, they would do it themselves. But I am envoking my exception rule...Alexis is the oldest sister and is pregnant right now..with what I can only assume is one of the most beautiful baby girls. She is currently in a hospital in Dallas on bed rest until the baby comes. Now, if that was due in the next few days...that would be great, but she isn't due until early July. Right now it is a daily check of the blood work and sonogram. She is holding her own, but still of concern. As of yesterday, they looking at taking baby Rogers this weekend, but Al seems to be doing better today. Please keep her, Ashley, and baby Rogers in your prayers. Thanks. I hope to have better news on my next update.

Vacation 2009

Well, I am embarrassed to say that Taris and I have not had a REAL vacation in over six years...and so here we go. For those of you that may not know, Taris and I bought a time share a couple of years ago tinking that it would force ua to take a vacation...yeah right! Bless the banking industry and their rule of taking one full week of vacation...so here we are.

We called in our dog sitter, whom the dogs adore, and have hit the open road. We are taking advantage of the awesome offer that Disney is offering Military members...Taris goes for free and I can get a 5 day park hopper for only $125...how do you say no to that. We are surviving so far, but we are certainly feeing our age! I can't wait to get back, to see the dogs, but Taris says it feels like we just got here. Having the time of our lives. As soon as we get back and I am not updating this blog from my phone, I will post pictures. To be continued...

Easter

Unfortunately, Easter was so uneventful that I don't even have any pictures to share. We kept it low key...just Taris, the girls, and me. We went to church in the morning and then to O'Brien's...a cute local place. Taris opened his Easter basket and we rested. Unfortunately, not much more to say. Hope everyone had a great one!

Saying Good-bye to Kelley

We had the Change of Command at our squadron and with that comes the ushering out of the previous C.O.W. (the Navy's name for the Commander's Wife). Here are some pictures from our evening celebrating everything Kelley did for the wives at the Fish House.

All the ladies...I am taking the picture (of course)

New Hardware

Taris (and the dogs) got me a new camera for Christmas. I have been wanting a digital SLR since we got married, and I am SO excited about it! Anyway, here are a few of the first pictures that I have taken. Just a few pictures of the dogs.
