So, Kathleen and I got to talking...and let me say that I am all talk and no action, Kathleen is not. On a Friday night we were talking about how we never made it out of town for our girls weekend. We decided New Orleans would be close...just three hours away. With a blessing from both Steve and Taris, Kathleen found us a hotel, and we decided to hit the road the next day. As most of you know, I am not a spontaneous girl. We had the best time. Kathleen played Blackjack at Harrah's while I tried my luck at the slots...I won $60! We visited Coyote Ugly, Bourbon Street, and of course Cafe Du Monde. I will have to get the rest of my photos from Kathleen, but until then..here they are.

I had to upload my photos before I could begin blogging. To be honest, I couldn't remember what I had on the camera...Boy am I embarrassed!!

Anyway, enough about that...an update.

In December, Kathleen, Jackson, and I hit the road for Atlanta for some quality time at Ikea and just a good time to get out of town. We had a great time. We left early Saturday morning and came back around 5 pm on Sunday. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

So, I never blogged about the Squadron Christmas party... so here it is. We had a great time, but a very long evening. I think that the pictures speak for themselves.

For Those that wonder what we are doing these days

I have been informed (by Kathleen) that I need to update this thing more often...so that those not living here can know what is happening with the Hawkins clan.

Where to begin! It has been so long, that I am not sure that it is worth updating the insanity that was the holidays. All I can say is that as usual, they flew by!

Things are well here. Work is keeping me extremely busy...but I am not complaining. I enjoy my job and the people that I work with.

Things at the house are relatively quiet. Always a bonus! The dogs are all doing well and we have escaped round three of the stomach flu!

I am involved with the monthly Bunco group in the neighborhood. It is so nice to get together with the others ladies in the neighborhood for food, drinks, and talk.

Not a lot of exciting things to blog about right now. I need to get myself together and organize. I shall return with better material. So, until next time...

No I have not forgotten that I have a blog!

What a terrible blogger I have been! I promise to get all caught up throughout this week. I am downloading my camera onto the computer now and will have updates soon...for those of you that are still checking in on this thing! Hope all of you had a wonderful end to your 2008 and have had a glorious start to 2009! More to come...

Gift Idea for the Holidays

This past weekend, we had some friends over to the house. We ate and played the best new game...Pictionary Man. I bought it on a whim, but it was so worth it. It was so much fun and we had the best time. I know what you are thinking....games on a Saturday night?? Well, I am here to tell you that we are bringing back staying in and hanging with friends. If you have someone on your gift list that you just can't figure out what to get...let me recommend Pictionary Man...the commercials don't do it justice!!

Air Force Ball

Well, I writing this out of order...but I forgot all about it! The Air Force Ball with September 26th. Taris and I had a great time. The speaker was really good. Not much to talk about, so I will get the the pictures!
